FIVE Cups from Coffee Time Romance!

SILENT KNIGHT J. R. TURNER

Sara Starks' latest mission carries a lot of ramifications. She needs to rescue a Senator’s son without a hitch, or her fiancée is going to pull her from the field. When things go very wrong, and both she and the kidnapped son are turned into pawns for a deadly game, the last thing on Sara’s mind is whether she will be desk bound when the dust finally settles.

Drake Knight, Sara’s fiancé and the head of Knight Agency, finds himself in the worst scenario he could have contemplated. A kidnap rescue goes horribly awry and the love of his life is at the heart of a maniacal plot that has more than just Sara caught up in the far-reaching power plays going on around him.

For decades, a secretive group called the Trifecta has turned key people into pawns for their purposes, trapping them via the antidote to a deadly injection each receives, giving them one choice: live and serve them, or die. The Trifecta is setting up their next generation of leaders, and liked or not, Sara is one of them. Dark secrets and demons from the past rise up to haunt Drake and Sara, leaving them wondering just who they can trust. From the beginning it becomes a race against time, and Sara’s life, to see if they can keep history from repeating itself.

Silent Knight is a non-stop, action packed roller coaster ride you cannot help but get caught up in. The reader is taken on a breathless trip from the first page to the last and left ready for more with the twist at the end. Secrets and lies, danger and desire, this novel has it all, vividly crafted. Put this on your must read list. This sequel to Stark Knight will not disappoint.

Following “Stark Knight,” J.R. Turner returns with her second mission, “Silent Knight.” Again we find Sara Stark and Drake Knight working together, initially to return a kidnapped senator’s son. What appears to be routine, turns out to be a nightmare for the boy and Sara. They are captured, taken to the Cook Islands and inoculated with an unknown virus. Drake Knight is able to locate Sara and the boy, but then it becomes a race against time to find the creator of the virus, meet his demands, get the antidote and escape with their lives. On top of that they find Drake’s dad, Sara’s foster-father, and his friends may be involved in the entire scandal. While the bullets are flying and cars are giving chase, they don’t know who they can trust and who they can’t.

“Silent Knight” is packed with action and excitement. It is a monstrous step into crime fiction and away from the romance section of the bookstore. It still has passion existing between Sara and Drake, but it is not the focus of the story. The story starts out fast and doesn’t stop. It is energetic and thrilling. The characters continue to be interesting, if not a little bit too good to be real.

Don’t miss this one, and we look forward to the mission.
